_________________________________________________________________ So Creationists argue that the complexity of the world around us is evidence of a designer. Such inter-connectedness requires a plan, and a plan requires a consciousness. Darwinists retort that systems are capable of self-organization, over time. Aside from time, what is the difference between these arguments? There is no argument at all -- only a tautology. Complexity is evidence of complexity, call it what you will. The reasoning of the Creationists requires an infinite regress of designers, while Darwinists assume that consciousness arises through some process other than self-organization. If it took me a billion years to design the Earth, will Darwinists say this does not still amount to menacing intelligence? A term like 'emergent behavior' -- how much better is it than 'magic' or 'god' at this point? Flavors of Creationism link the above with ancient documents. This is another matter entirely, for which tender therapy is the only reasonable indication.
